Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)

What chemicals do you work with daily and how do you protect yourself against harm when working with them?  This course will cover the WHMIS classification system, different labels, how to read an MSDS sheet and how to implement a WHMIS program.

Duration:        Half day


WHMIS - Plus

This in-depth course is the second part to the half-day WHMIS course.  This course will cover information on chemicals specific to your workplace.  Examples include:  isocyanates, solvents, glues, resins etc.  This course will be tailored to your specific chemical needs.

Respiratory Protection

Never worry that you are wearing the incorrect respiratory protection again!  Learn how to select the appropriate respiratory protection based on the type of work that you perform. This course includes instruction on dust masks, half or full face respirators, supplied air respirators and self-contained breathing apparatus.  This course will also cover WCB requirements and respirator cartridge selection.   

Duration:        Half-day

Back Awareness

Be back smart!  Learn how to protect your back while you work.  This course will cover the common causes of back injury, prevention exercises, proper lifting techniques and work area organization and layout. 

Duration:        2 hours

Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention

Musculoskeletal injuries such as sprains, strains and inflammation are far too common.  Learn how to identify factors that place you at risk for Musculoskeletal Injuries (MSI); how to prevent MSI; how to use control measures to reduce the risk of an MSI.  Recognize the signs and symptoms of MSI and understand the potential health effects. 

Duration:        2 hours 

Asbestos Management Programs

So, you have asbestos at your site.  Now what?  Learn labelling, inspection, document review, inventory, risk assessment and worker training and program requirements so your workplace will be compliant with the WCB regulation.
